An Idea That Sounded Impossible
When an investor comes to you wanting to build a snow and ice complex on a tropical island where temperatures never drop below 25°C, you have two options. You can say it can’t be done. Or you can do it right.
We chose the second option.
Snow Kingdom Phuket now operates as a fully-fledged winter entertainment park in the heart of Thailand’s most visited island. Tourists and local Thais experience snow here – many for the first time in their lives – and they keep coming back.

The Technical Challenge: Ice Where Ice Doesn’t Belong
Behind every minute of fun inside lies a precisely engineered technical system that must run continuously – regardless of what’s happening outside.
Refrigeration in a tropical environment places far higher demands on cooling technology than in Europe. The outdoor temperature never drops, so the system runs at full capacity 365 days a year. The technologies used are designed for stable operation even under extreme heat loads.
Dehumidification is critical in Thailand. Air with 80% humidity is the number one enemy of any ice surface – condensation, fog, frost on structures and rapid deterioration of ice quality. The air conditioning and dehumidification system at Snow Kingdom maintains indoor conditions comparable to European winter stadiums.
Building envelope insulation prevents thermal penetration from outside. Every watt of heat that gets through the wall means higher operating costs and unstable conditions inside. The building’s facade – white, with themed details resembling icicles – serves both an aesthetic and a functional role at the same time.

Snow Kingdom is a fully operational commercial venue with regular opening hours (Mon–Fri 10:00–19:00, Sat–Sun 10:00–20:00) and hundreds of satisfied visitors every day.
