Cutting-Edge Ice Technology: Baku Hosted the Grand Prix of Figure Skating
This year, Baku became the host city of the international Grand Prix of Figure Skating, attracting athletes from more than 20 countries – including France, Italy, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Israel, Poland, the Czech Republic, and others.
The competition took place at the Heydar Aliyev Sports and Concert Complex, which recently underwent major technical modernization.
Technology Transforming Ice Conditions
As part of the modernization, we installed our advanced dehumidification system, ensuring ideal conditions throughout the event.
📌 The new solution eliminated the fog issue that had previously affected competitions and training sessions.
Thanks to precise humidity control and automated climate regulation, air quality and visibility remained excellent during the entire competition – even with a full audience.
Ice That Endured Under Pressure
The new WM Shira ice resurfacer maintained perfect ice quality even under intense competition use.
This modern maintenance system kept the ice surface:
smooth and even,
safe,
energy-efficient.
Currently, the automation, visualization, and central control systems are being tested, allowing stadium operators to monitor and optimize all technologies from one control point.
Baku as a Model for Modern Ice Arenas
The success of the Grand Prix in Baku demonstrated that technological upgrades make a visible difference for athletes, organizers, and spectators alike.
With its cutting-edge climate and ice systems, Baku is becoming a regional hub for winter sports development.
📌 ICE Professional technologies help ice arenas around the world achieve maximum efficiency and comfort – and Baku stands as proof that quality equipment makes a difference.
